A Sandstone man has been sentenced to 367 months, or just over 30 years, in prison after being convicted of attacking a couple in their Ogilvie home last November.
Troy Allan Hill was convicted of two counts of second-degree attempted murder and three first-degree burglary counts. He faced 21 total charges in the case,
Hill entered a guilty plea in Kanabec County District Court in July. The remaining 16 charges in the case were dropped.
According to the criminal complaint, Hill attacked Ogilvie residents Jeff and Becky Ponto in their home while looking for an ex who was dating the Pontos’ son. The Pontos were hospitalized in critical condition after the attack.
Each count of second-degree murder comes with a sentence of 183 months and 15 days, to be served consecutively. The burglary counts will be served concurrently.
Hill was credited with 295 days already served in jail.
