The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has identified an Isanti teenager who died of a fentanyl overdose in December.
According to a press release from the Isanti Police Department, 17-year-old Violet Wickoren died of acute fentanyl toxicity.
She was discovered deceased in her home by family members on December 30th.
The Isanti Police Department and BCA-led Anti-Heroin Task Force are leading an investigation into the case, with assistance from the East Central Drug Task Force.
It is believed that Wickoren obtained the fatal dose of fentanyl in the 24 hours prior to her death.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
