The Isanti County Board of Commissioners named chief financial officer and auditor-treasurer Chad Struss as interim county administrator during Tuesday’s meeting.
Previous county administrator Julia Lines announced her resignation in January. March 9 was her last day holding the position.
Struss has worked for Isanti County for the past 16 years. He and Camille Hepola, a former KARE11 anchor and Hennepin County administrative manager, are the two candidates for the position. A third finalist dropped out of contention before interviews were conducted.
In a prepared statement, Commissioner Alan Duff said the commissioners owe county residents a thorough search for the next county administrator.
An outside hiring firm would cost the county $20,000.
