The Isanti Soil and Water Conservation District has been approved for grant funding from the Minnesota Board for Water and Soil Resources for a major project in the area.
The board recently approved roughly $384,000 in funds for improvements and increased quality of Blue Lake. Recent data has shown the lakes’ 10-year average total phosphorus levels hover just above state standards.
The funds will be used to reduce those levels in two waves, one phase occurring in 2022 and another in 2024.
Isanti and Sherburne County also has projects seeking funding regarding parks in their areas and hope to be approved during the Minnesota Legislative session in 2022.
