Isanti Fire District firefighters battle pair of structure fires on Tuesday

Isanti Fire District crews were dispatched to a pair of structure fires in the service area on Tuesday.

Firefighters were dispatched at 4 a.m. on a report of a possible fire at a Bradford Township business. Mutual aid was requested from the Saint Francis Fire Department when heavy black smoke was confirmed at the scene.

The fire was brought under control quickly, and no injuries were reported. The blaze was determined to have started in a side room, where a container with cleaning rags came into contact with stored cooking oils.

Firefighters were also dispatched at 9 a.m. for a report of a fire in a single-family residence in rural Spencer Brook Township. A report from an occupant of the home claimed an explosion in the mechanical area of the residence.

The blaze caused significant damage to the structure, but no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
