Isle man dies after being trapped in Cemstone gravel wash plant

The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office reported a fatal accident at Cemstone Products in Isle on Thursday.


According to a press release, the sheriff's office responded to a 911 call about a person trapped in a gravel wash plant at Cemstone, located at 1515 410th St. in Isle.


Isle Fire and Rescue arrived to the scene and were able to free the trapped party and start lifesaving efforts with help from Cemstone employees.


The male party, identified as 45-year-old Isle resident Chad Minenko, was transported by Isle Ambulance Service to Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia, where he was pronounced deceased.


The sheriff's office and Mine Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident, which is believed to be an accident.
