Kanabec County Sheriff's Office notifies public about sex offender's release

The Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office is notifying residents about a risk level-three sex offender being released in Mora on May 14.

According to the notice, 63-year-old Rommel Fritz has a history of sexual contact against three minor and one teenage female victims who were known to him.

In a separate incident, Fritz engaged in sexual contact against an unknown teenage female victim. He gained access by encountering the victim as a runaway and offering assistance.

Fritz was released to an address in the vicinity of Highways 23 and 65 in Mora.

According to the notice, he has served the sentence imposed on him by the court. The sheriff's office may not direct where released individuals reside.
