Kanabec History Center Exceeds Fundraising Goal

The Kanabec History Center has some good reasons to be happy at the start of this year.

The history center raised over $17,000, exceeding their $15,000 fundraising goal which would allow the center to keep operating for the next 6 months. This comes after the failed tax levy measure on last year's ballot.

"We are just so thankful for the community support we have been receiving," said Promotional Manager Julia Gams. "2020 was not an easy year for anyone, especially for a non-profit."

The history center picked the $15,000 mark as their goal as it was half of the amount asked for in the tax levy proposed. More fundraising ideas are being discussed for future funding.

If you wish to make a contribution, you do so by either donating on their website, buying a membership or volunteering your time.

The Kanabec History Center still plans to open back up to the public on January 13th.
