Man believed to be 'in possession of explosive devices' arrested in rural Milaca

A man law enforcement believed to be in possession of explosive devices was arrested in rural Milaca on Wednesday morning.

According to a news release from the Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office, the county SWAT team executed a warrant in the 13000 block of 140th Street just after 8 a.m.

The sheriff's office was assisted by the Benton/Stearns County SWAT team, Crow Wing County bomb squad, and investigators from the multijurisdictional AIM-VCET violent crimes task force.

The release states that after weeks of investigations, authorities had reason to believe an adult male with felony warrants out of multiple counties was living in a trailer house on the property.

Investigators also believed the party in question was "possibly manufacturing, and in possession of explosive devices."

The man was taken into custody without incident. Law enforcement did not believe there was any threat to the public during the investigation or subsequent warrant service.

The investigation is ongoing, and may result in additional charges.
