Memorial Day Storm Aftermath

East Central Minnesota residents continue to clean up after the Memorial Day storms that left thousands without power and downed hundreds of trees. According to East Central Energy, by 10:00 p.m. Monday evening, over 10,000 customers were without power.

The Braham area was hit hard with devastating winds and fallen trees, with significant damage to homes including the Braham Monument building which lost its roof in the early morning hours.

In Isanti County, the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents with any property damage to report it to the department so that information can be reported to FEMA.

The city of Cambridge was also hit with massive winds which brought down trees and power lines. The city is assisting residents with brush pick-up over the course of the end of the week and into the next. Crews do ask that brush diameters do not exceed 4”..
