The Raiders hosted the Lions in a rare early afternoon game on Tuesday.
In the first set neither team get pull away from the other. They tied the set many times as well as traded the lead even more. For a small portion of time Mille Lacs lead 10-5 but Ogilvie quickly erased that deficit and again the game was tied. It seemed like we were headed into extra points in the opening frame. Late in the set the Raiders were able to grab momentum and pull away for a 25-19 set win. The start of the second set was very different. Ogilvie leaped out to a 8-3 lead and hoped to dominate the set. But Mille Lacs went on to score 5 unanswered points to tie the set. After the tie they slowly pulled away and wound up taking set 2 25-14. In the middle of set two Ashley Rogers reached a career milestone. She had reached her 1,000th career set assist! Congratulations to Ashley Rogers!
The third set was controlled by the Raiders early on as they held a 12-3 lead. The Lions managed to grab four points to close the gap. The Raiders were able to keep their lead and continue to put points on the board despite the Lions attempted comeback. Mille Lacs won 3-0.
Mille Lacs sits at the top of the conference with Rush City as the only two remaining undefeated in the conference. The Raiders will travel to Rush City Thursday to find out who will sit atop the conference alone.
Ogilvie fought hard and will be a tough team who shouldn't be overlooked. They will be in Pine City Thursday.
