MnDOT completed a safety audit of Highway 169 between Princeton and Elk River this summer.
According to a news release, the audit focused on conditions from Sherburne County Road 33 to County Road 29.
A total of 12 fatal and 17 serious injury crashes were documented in the corridor between 2015 and 2024, with eight involving motorcycles.
Proposed short-term improvements include installing cable barriers and improving curve signage visibility and intersection lighting.
MnDOT will begin a corridor study in late 2026 to determine long-term projects.
