MnDOT is beginning a study of Highway 8 for a pavement resurfacing project slated for 2032.
The location of the study extends from Karmel Avenue in Chisago City to Taylors Falls in Chisago County.
According to MnDOT, the study will explore ways to improve vehicle safety and mobility, safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists, and access management.
MnDOT will engage with Chisago County, Chisago City, Lindstrom, Center City, Shafer, Chisago Lake, Taylors Falls, and Franconia Township officials as local partners for the study.
The total cost of the study, which is expected to continue through October of 2025, is $550,000.
