Mora City Council outlines next steps in city administrator search

The Mora City Council outlined the next steps in the search for a city administrator at Tuesday's meeting.

The council has a special meeting scheduled on Jan. 27 for a first round of interviews with candidates.

Mayor Jake Mathison said Mora has received "a healthy amount of applicants" for the position.

Interim city administrator Joe Kohlgraf corroborated by saying seven applications have been submitted, with a deadline of Monday, Jan. 18.

Five candidates will be interviewed during the first round; two finalists will be interviewed on Feb. 12.

The council is eyeing appointing a city administrator at its regular meeting on Feb. 27, with a tentative start date of March 9.

Kohlgraf has been serving in an interim capacity since treasurer Charles Hippen-Koch resigned in October.

After reaching a separation agreement with previous city administrator Glenn Anderson in June of 2024, Mora had moved forward with a three-pronged approach to the position, with Kohlgraf, City Clerk Natasha Segelstrom, and Hippen-Koch sharing administrative duties.
