The city of Mora approved a resolution to enter into the Minnesota GreenStep Cities program during their meeting earlier this week.
The GreenStep Cities program aims to provide cities a pathway to sustainability and resiliency based on the implementation of best practices specific to Minnesota cities. Several communities participate in the program including Braham, Pine City and Isanti.
The program consists of 29 best practices that the city can strive for including environmental management, transportation, land use practices, buildings and lighting and more.
The city was able to find a coordinator for the program and will begin assembling a committee to follow the program for the future. If you would like more information on the GreenStep cities program, you can check out their website.
