Mora hardware store closed until further notice after fire

Johnsons Hardware and Rental in Mora will be closed until further notice after the building sustained damage in a fire on Tuesday, July 22.


According to the Mora Area Fire Department's incident report, the call about the blaze at the building, located at 212 Railroad Ave., came in just before 6:30 p.m.


Kanabec County Sheriff Brian Smith said the business was closed and unoccupied at the time of the fire.


The cause of the fire remains unknown, and Smith said the state fire marshal's office is investigating. The financial loss caused by the blaze is also currently unknown, according to the incident report.


The Ogilvie Fire Department, Braham Fire Department, and Welia Health also responded to the blaze.


The incident report states that crews were at the scene until 10:15 p.m., with one crew of four staying until 1 a.m.


A social media post from Matt Johnson reads in part: "We plan to get this cleaned up, rebuilt, and be back up and running as soon as possible."
