Mora, Kanabec County consider property exchange

The city of Mora is considering an exchange of property with Kanabec County.

At Tuesday’s city council meeting, Mora public works director Joe Kohlgraf said the swap would include some of the parking lot on the west side of the water tower, near the high school.

Kanabec County currently owns a lot to the west of the courthouse, on the north side of the fire hall.

Kohlgraf said courthouse parking is largely the reason for considering the exchange.

Kohlgraf also added that there’d likely be no charge for exchanging the lots, and that only a title exchange and a blanket easement for utilities would be required.
