Mora man arrested after allegedly pulling knife during auto dealership altercation

A 30-year-old Mora man was arrested and charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon after allegedly pulling a knife during an altercation at an auto dealership on Saturday night.

According to the criminal complaint, Kanabec County Sheriff's Office dispatch received a report of two male individuals fighting at a dealership in the 800 block of Highway 65 in Mora just before 8 p.m.

Deputies responded to the scene and located Kenneth Kastenbauer, who reportedly pulled a knife in the confrontation.

It was determined that the altercation stemmed from Kastenbauer's aggressive driving conduct. The complaint states that he sped up close behind the victim multiple times, stopping just before rear-ending his vehicle.

The victim allowed him to pass, and was waved to follow Kastenbauer into the dealership. The victim observed him opening his door with a small, black folding knife in his hand.

Kastenbauer allegedly threatened to kill the victim and pushed him twice after being asked "are you going to stab me?"

Law enforcement retrieved the knife from Kastenbauer's vehicle after he consented to a search, and he was arrested and brought to the Kanabec County jail.

He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct and fifth-degree assault.
