Mora public utilities general manager Joe Kohlgraf said the city's Maple Avenue construction is about two or three weeks away from completion on Friday.
"Maple Avenue is going very well," Kohlgraf said. "We're getting the curbs in place, the driveway approaches are starting to be put in, and we're hoping to have blacktop next week, with sidewalks to follow at the end of the week."
According to an update from the city on Tuesday, driveway accessibility for homes and businesses in the construction area won’t be available until tentatively Wednesday, Oct. 9.
"It always comes down to the last two or three weeks, which are the most miserable time for any of these projects," Kohlgraf said. "Because people want it done, and it looks like it should be done quick."
Kohlgraf said the first layer of blacktop will go down next week as long as favorable weather for work continues.
"This weather has been completely awesome for what's been going on here," Kohlgraf said.
