Museum Day and Fundraiser for Kanabec History Center

The Kanabec History Center is inviting the public out to its Museum Day which is taking place on Saturday, May 15th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will include games and food, as well as the grand opening of the Founders of Kanabec County exhibit.

Kanabec History Center Director Darbi Ranaud is excited to show off the new exhibit and hopes residents will enjoy themselves.

"As for a grand opening for this exhibit it will be really great." said Ranaud, "It will also be an opportunity for people who haven't been into the History Center in while to see how far the other displays have come, because just about everything in there has been seriously renovated recently."

The Kanabec History Center is also participating in GiveMN’s SpringForward MN fundraiser this year, running from now until May 11th.

The GiveMN fundraiser will allow the history center to be entered into chance drawings for bonus grant money on top of donations.

Last fall, the center was able to raise $20,000 to help keep the doors open but anticipates closure by 2022 without more assistance.

The center stated that all donations will go towards general operation costs and is appreciative to all that can and have helped in the past.

If you would like more information or to donate, you can check out the Kanabec History Center’s Facebook page.
