An Ogilvie man was sentenced Monday to 312 months, or 26 years, in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder.
43-year-old Dustin Tinklenberg pleaded guilty to killing his grandmother with a hatchet in her Kanabec County home in September of 2022.
Tinklenberg entered a Norgaard plea on Aug. 14, admitting guilt but acknowledging he couldn’t recall the facts of the case.
According to the criminal complaint, Tinklenberg was homeless but occasionally stayed with his grandmother, Stella Anderson.
Anderson was found dead on Sept. 13, 2022, from what investigators called “obvious homicidal violence.” Tinklenberg was reported to have been on the property off Highway 23 twice the previous day.
He alleged being sexually assaulted by her as a child, and told law enforcement she continued to harass him.
Tinklenberg receives credit for 427 days already served.
