Ogilvie School District renews four-day school week for six-year cycle

The Minnesota Department of Education renewed the Ogilvie School District's four-day week structure for the upcoming school year in June.

According to superintendent Kevin Ricke, the district's four-day week was approved for a six-year cycle after previously having been renewed every three years.

Ogilvie has operated with a four-day week since 2009, with Monday as the day school is typically not in session.

Ricke said the school board submitted a renewal application in March after a series of public hearings and surveys conducted with staff, students, and community members.
