One is dead after diving into shallow water on Bone Lake, east of Luck in Polk County Wisconsin Saturday.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, responders were called the scene just before 7 pm with the report of a possible drowning.
The responding Deputy learned that the victim was swimming on Eagle Island with family members when he dove into around two feet of water and appears to have struck the lake bottom. The individual didn't regain consciousness.
Family members rescued the victim from the water, where they loaded him into a pontoon and brought him to the shore while providing care
The victim was taken to Amery Regional Medical Center; however, the victim later died due to his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
