One is in custody following a Thursday afternoon standoff with Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Deputies in Onamia.
According to law enforcement, deputies were attempting to arrest Ruben Wind who was wanted for violation of a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order. Ruben was reportedly under supervision due to being a client of the Domestic Violence Court and was spotted with the protected party of the no contact order in the drive-through of the Woodlands Bank.
Mille Lacs County Chief Deputy Kyle Burton said that Ruben would not cooperate with deputies and barricaded themselves in the car. After attempting to negotiate with the subject, authorities brought in resources to deescalate the situation, which included the use of a K9 and less than lethal munitions.
Ruben was taken into custody and booked in the Mille Lacs County Jail on Violation of No Contact Order and 4th Degree Assault on a Peace Officer.
