Isanti County is looking to make changes to their county recorder position and will hold a public hearing to get the public’s opinions.
The change to an appointment position was brought forth when county recorder Karen Long submitted a resignation after being elected in November 2018 for a four year term, giving the board the opportunity to make the change through state statue.
While the board of commissioners had a general majority for the change back in November, concerns from some members of the board and the public had hindered any change taking place.
A March 1st public hearing will be held at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge at 9:30 a.m. to get another public consensus for the position, you can find more information on the Isanti County Government website.
