Sewer Main Break In Braham

The city of Braham encountered a sewer main break while inspecting piping on Tuesday that shut down traffic from Beechwood Avenue South to Eastgate Avenue South.

The issue arose while the city was televising the sewers lines so that problem areas within the lines could be identified and presented for a better chance at securing needed funding.

The city had to use a bypass pump system from Visu-sewer to route the sewer to the next manhole while crews made repairs which were completed Tuesday night.

Braham is concerned that the break is indicative of the many issues that the city face, with crew continuing to work the pipelines with a different approach to minimize another incident.

The city will replace the blacktop at the collapse point once dirt settles and weather permits.
