Structure Fire in Cambridge

Fire crews responded to a structure fire across from the Isanti County Fairgrounds in Cambridge Tuesday evening.


According to the Cambridge Fire Department, at approximately 4:50 pm, crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 3100 block of Highway 95 NE in Cambridge Township with reports of a pole shed on fire with thick black smoke.


Cambridge Fire was first on scene and located a resident of the property and escorted them to safety. Crews reported heavy fire in the steel building with possibility to spread to a building to the south.


Cambridge Fire requested mutual aid from surrounding agencies due to the fire being in an area without fire hydrants and the size of the fire. With assistance, crews was able to get the fire under control, allowing some property in the second building to be saved.


No injuries were reported, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.


Agencies involved with the incident: Cambridge Fire Department, Isanti County Sheriff’s Office, Isanti Fire District, Cambridge Police Department, Isanti County Safety Rescue, MN/DOT, North Ambulance, and DW Companies.
