A North Branch family appears to be the victims of a swatting incident according to law enforcement.
The North Branch Police Department said they received a call that a woman had shot her parents in the Casselberry neighborhood Friday night and was planning to do further acts of violence.
This caused a swift response from area law enforcement, including Chisago County and Wyoming Police Departments, who determined that the call was fake and not placed from the residence.
Swatting refers to the act of pranking emergency services to response to a particular address with large numbers of armed officers
The occupants of the home were reported to be shaken but safe, the North Branch Police Department says they will investigate the incident fully and appreciate the community's understanding.
