Two parties were taken into custody on Thursday after a narcotics investigation led to a pursuit in Isanti County.
According to a news release from the Isanti County Sheriff's Office, deputies executed a search warrant in cooperation with the East Central Drug and Violent Offenders Task Force on the 29100 block of Vale Street Northwest in Bradford Township.
The release states that while attempting to apprehend suspects, two individuals fled the scene in a Chevy Camaro, driving through and around police vehicles.
The ensuing pursuit led to an area on 329th Avenue Northwest, where law enforcement lost sight of the fleeing vehicle.
A short time later, smoke was seen at a property south of 329th Avenue, and the suspects' vehicle was located engulfed in flames. No occupants were inside.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Office assisted Isanti County authorities in deploying drones. K9 units were also utilized, and located the two suspects, who were taken into custody without further incident.
The individuals were identified as 47-year-old Isanti resident Jeriod Knerr and 44-year-old Becker resident Carrie Chamberlin.
Both were transported to the Isanti County Jail after being medically cleared by the Cambridge Medical Center.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
