With the threat of winter weather looming across East Central Minnesota, schools and community organizations have started to announce closures.
Community Closures:
- Senior Dining in Chisago County is canceled for Wednesday and Thursday. Delivery to Braham and Rush City postponed to Friday. This list will be updated throughout the day.
- Braham Evangelical Lutheran is canceling its Ash Wednesday Worship Service due to the weather.
- The Let’s Talk Transportation event for a Highways 65 and 23 corridor study in Mora, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22, is postponed. The rescheduled meet-and-greet will now take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16. It will be hosted at Mora City Hall, 101 S Lake St., Mora, MN. There will not be a formal presentation; guests may come and go at their leisure.
- The city of Cambridge is declaring a snow emergency for Thursday and Friday, February 23 and 24, from 2-7 a.m. both days.
- All ECRL locations will be closing at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, due to the winter storm. All locations will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 23. Regular library services will resume on Friday, Feb. 24.
- Grantsburg American Legion Post #185 has canceled the monthly meal for Feb. 23 due to the winter storm heading our way.
Schools:
- North Branch Area Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 22, and Thursday, Feb. 23. This includes early childhood programs, school-age care, Community Education programs, and all activities. Staff should not report, all buildings will be closed.
- Ogilvie Public Schools: Thursday, Feb. 23 will be an E-Learning day for students. No staff or students in the building. No activities.
- Milaca Public Schools will be releasing students today (Wednesday, Feb. 22) at 1:00 p.m. Milaca Public Schools will use an e-learning day for tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 23).
- Foley Public Schools will be having e-learning days Wednesday and Thursday, February 22-23.
- Princeton Public Schools:
- Wednesday, Feb. 22 will be a flexible e-learning day
- Thursday, Feb. 23 will be a full school closure, with no flexible learning activities
- Tiger Club will be open on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 6 a.m. - 5 p.m. at both sites, and will be closed Thursday, Feb. 23.
- There will be no evening programs or activities, and Community Education classes and facility rentals will be canceled.
- Preschool conferences will be offered virtually on Wednesday, Feb. 22 or rescheduled.
- High School Student of the Month Celebration is rescheduled to March 2. 8th Grade Parent Information Event is rescheduled to Feb. 27.
- Cambridge-Isanti Schools will have e-learning Days Wednesday (February 22) and Thursday (February 23), due to high forecasted snowfall amounts, wind gusts, and predicted poor road conditions throughout the district. All community education and after-school athletics and activities have been canceled.
