Pine City Schools See Meal Price Increase
Paying for school meals in the Pine City School District in 2017 will be more expensive than last year.
The school meal price increase is only a slight change over last year, with all meals for elementary, junior and senior high, and adult going up by ten cents over last year’s rates.
The first day back to school for Pine City Public Schools students is Monday, September 5th.
Kids Day for MDA in Ogilvie
An event in Ogilvie is being put on to benefit children with muscular dystrophy.
The MDA summer camp is August 26th from 1-5 with different games, prizes, and food.
The proceeds from the event will go to MDA.
The Kids Day for MDA is being held at the Casey’s Gas Station in Ogilvie.
Suspect at Large in North Branch Armed Robbery
Police are still on the lookout for a man on the run following an armed robbery in North Branch.
Just before midnight on Sunday police were called to the scene of a hotel in North Branch after the suspect displayed a handgun and fled on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6 ft, 190 lbs, in his mid to late 20s, wearing a grey Nike sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Burnett County Fair Coming Soon
The same week as the Minnesota State Fair, a local County is holding theirs as well.
Just across the border, the Burnett County Fair begins August 24th and is the 140th year the fair will celebrate running.
The fair will feature the ultimate truck series at the grandstand, family fun day with the parade, as well as a classic car show and demolition derby.
