Rush City School District Proposes Referendum


RC Schools Propose Referendum

The Rush City School District will be pursuing an operating referendum this November.

The cost of the referendum would be $600 per student, with the total revenue being $600,000 generated per year under the proposal.

The cost to residents would be $118 per year on a $100,000 property value.

That new revenue would be used for operating expenses only, according to the district.

Residents in the Rush City School District will be called upon to vote on the referendum on November 7th.

Danbury Soldier’s Body Found in River

Officials have identified the body of a soldier found in the Red River in Montgomery County, Tennessee as a Danbury man.

26-year-old Sgt. Ryan Estridge was found September 8th after going missing in the river September 1st after an altercation with another man.

Estridge was an infantryman with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), from Danbury, Wisconsin.

Estridge will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in the town of Blaine north of Riverside in Burnett County.

Cambridge City-wide Garage Sale

A massive, city encompassing garage sale will take place this weekend in Cambridge.

The Cambridge city-wide garage sale is this Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm.

Rush City Foods Dozed; Kwik Trip will go up in 2018

Yesterday a building that once housed a local grocery store was demolished in Rush City.

Rush City foods was destroyed yesterday to make room for a Kwik Trip that will open in 2018.

The announcement of that store took place one year ago, and hiring will begin roughly 6 months before its opening.
