WCMP Listeners Help Local Food Shelf

WCMP in partnership with Daggett’s Fresh Foods, Town and Country Insurance, Elderwood of Hinckley, and Coldwell Banker Results ran the Project Food Shelf campaign this past weekend in Hinckley.

Daggett's Fresh Foods helped WCMP pre-package bags that contained items traditionally requested by the food shelf throughout the holidays. On Friday and Saturday WCMP broadcast LIVE from Daggett's and customers were able to come in and purchase these pre-packaged bags for $10. The bags were then delivered to the Pine City food shelf where they could be distributed to those in need.

Because of the generosity of local businesses and individuals, WCMP was able to donate 171 bags to the local food shelf. Those bags along with the monetary donations totaled over $1800 worth of food that will go to local people in need this holiday season.

WCMP would like to say thank you to the local businesses who helped with project food shelf and to each and every one of our listeners who showed up and donated food or cash.
