Braham Bus Company garage, three buses destroyed in fire

A fire Tuesday morning destroyed the Braham Bus Company garage, according to local authorities.

Captain John Elder, Isanti County’s Emergency Management Director, said a 911 call reported a fire inside the garage at 8:52 a.m. Braham police officers arrived at the scene and reported seeing flames from the exterior of the structure.

Braham Fire Department ensured no one remained in the building and requested mutual aid from Cambridge and Mora fire departments. Elder said the three agencies were able to get the fire under control.

According to Braham Area Schools Superintendent Ken Gagner, the garage is a total loss, and three buses were lost in the blaze. The Braham Area School District contracts with the Braham Bus Company for transportation services.

In an email, Gagner said district transportation services will continue as normal, although there may be modifications with types of vehicles.

One firefighter was evaluated for a possible injury at the scene.
