Braham and Aitkin faced off in a Great River Conference battle on Tuesday night on the volleyball court. Despite good talent, both teams were coming in with losing records hoping to get their seasons on the right track.
Things started out close. Braham won the first two sets by the minimum two points. 26-24 and 25-23. It was the persistence that had the Bombers successful. Along with athletic plays, Braham was able to stay in control and take long points and put them into their column.
Aitkin fought back, however. Flipping the script on Braham and winning the third set 26-24. Controlled play was the difference once again.
Braham came into the fourth set like a buzzsaw. The Bombers found themselves leading 23-10 late. Aitkin cut into the lead a little bit, but Braham finished off the Gobblers 25-13 to win the match 3-1.
Aitkin will be at home against Hinckley- Finlayson on Thursday.
Braham will travel to East Central on Thursday.
