The Pine City tennis team wrapped up their regular season at home yesterday. The Dragons hosted Pierz, whom they won against on Tuesday. The Pioneers switched their lineup for the match but the Dragons played strong and came away with the 7-0 victory. The Dragons finish the season without a blemish on their record. Pine City will be the #2 seed for the section tournament, and will host #7 Mora on Monday at 4pm.
Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt said "The singles players dominated their matches with strong play and smart shots. Lily Struss dug deep to win a second set tie breaker to pull off the singles sweep. Doubles also came out strong with good placement to sweep at all positions. I am so proud of the girls. Their effort is awesome and they have high goals as we look to sections on Monday. We will host Mora at home at 4:00. The winner will advance and play next Tuesday."
