The Mora Area Fire Department received approval to purchase two trucks at last Tuesday’s Mora City Council meeting.
Money for both vehicles would come out of the department’s truck fund. The department’s truck committee plans to buy a new tender from Midwest Fire for delivery in 2024. It costs over $234,000, has an estimated life of 30 years, and will replace an existing tanker ready for upgrading due to age and condition.
The department will also purchase a used tender from Helie-Price at a cost of $119,000. The truck will replace Tender #6 at the department, which no longer has new replacement parts available.
The estimated remaining life on the replacement tender is 20 years.
