Winter storm watch to take effect in Pine, Kanabec, Isanti, Mille Lacs counties

It's not an April Fool's Day joke: Pine, Kanabec, Isanti, and Mille Lacs counties are under a winter storm watch that could bring significant snowfall on Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, Pine County will be under the winter storm watch from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Heavy snow is expected, with an 80 percent chance of at least 6 inches. Winds could gust as high as 35 miles per hour.
In Kanabec, Isanti, and Mille Lacs counties, the alert is in effect from 1 p.m. Tuesday through 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The NWS is anticipating heavy mixed precipitation, forecasting between 5 and 10 inches of accumulating snow and a light glaze of ice possible.
