The Pine City Dragons boys basketball team played down at the Target Center on Saturday.
The Dragons faced off against the Agates from Two Harbors. Both teams struggled to find a groove early in the 1st half. But before long both teams found a rhythm, and the game became a fast paced shoot out. There numerous lead changes throughout the 1st half. The Dragons were able to take the lead before halftime at 35-32. Coming out of the half the Dragons had all the momentum. They built on their lead and the defense made it very hard for the Agates to do anything on the offensive side of the ball. Pine City seemingly couldn’t miss from 3 point range in the 2nd half. The Dragons ran away with the game in the 2nd half. Pine City got the victory 88-59, helping keep them undefeated on the season.
Pine City will play in the Wood City Classic this Friday and Saturday in Cloquet Mn. They will play Proctor on Friday at 1pm and Cloquet on Saturday at 615pm. Both of those games will be played at the Cloquet middle school.
