The Pine City School district just passed over the half-way mark of the school year, and recently started their spring semester.
Pine City School District Superintendent Annette Freiheit said that classrooms standards have improved with new methods of teacher meetings.
“What we're seeing is because the standards are getting more embedded into the classroom is that our kids are making better progress on those standards, and we're hoping that when they take the MCA tests in the spring we're going to see even better results."
With almost two years of service now as Superintendent, Freiheit said Pine City is a community that stands apart.
"I really think it's the staff, community, parents, and kids. We have really great people here and no matter what we face, people pull together and figure out, 'how can we address that and make things better?' And we celebrate the things that are going really well too. The support for our schools has been tremendous and you don't find that in every community.”
The third quarter of the Pine City School District year begins January 23rd.
